HOUSTON October 1, 2012 - Today, Harris County Clerk Stan Stanart and Harris County Commissioner Steve Radack in partnership with Clear Channel VP Lee Vela, unveiled a countywide billboard campaign promoting early voting among the 1.95 million registered voters in the nation’s third largest voting jurisdiction.

HOUSTON July 30, 2012 - “It is very important that all voters look up their voting location before heading to the polls. On Election Day voters must vote at the designated voting location for their precinct,” asserted Stanart.

HOUSTON July 26, 2012 - “With turnout records being broken, Friday is the Last Day to Vote Early for the Primary Runoff Election” said Stan Stanart, Harris County Clerk and Chief Elections Officer, making one last appeal to voters to vote early.

HOUSTON June 29, 2012 - As of close of business on Wednesday, June 20 the County Clerk’s Office has mailed over 36,000 ballots to voters for the July 31 Republican and Democratic Primary Runoff Elections.

HOUSTON May 10, 2012 - Early voting by personal appearance for the long awaited May 29 Republican and Democratic Party Primary Elections will begin Monday, May 14, 2012, and continue through Friday, May 25, 2012.

HOUSTON April 14, 2012 - Approximately 17,000 ballots were mailed by the Harris County Clerk’s office on Saturday, April 14th.

HOUSTON March 1, 2012 - The Harris County Clerk’s Office announced today that the last day to file for a place on the ballot for the Harris County Emergency Services District (ESD) 75 Commissioners Election is Monday, March 5, 2012, at 5:00 p.m.

HOUSTON October 13, 2011 - The U.S. Census Bureau has determined that there are now at least 10,000 voting age citizens of Chinese ancestry in Harris County who do not "speak or understand English adequately enough to participate in the electoral process".

HOUSTON September 9, 2011 - The period to request a ballot-by-mail for the upcoming election begins Fri. Sept. 9 and runs through Tues. Nov. 1.

HOUSTON August 31, 2011 - Harris County Clerk Stan Stanart announced today that the re-registration period for livestock brands and marks begins Wed., Aug. 31, 2011 and ends Wed., Feb. 29, 2012.

  • Information requests must be in writing;
  • Requests must be addressed to the Officer for Public Information or the chief administrative officer;
  • Government bodies are only required to provide documents and other information which is already in existence.
